Flag of Mexico

La bandera de Mexico, the flag of Mexico, contains ancient imagery based on Aztec culture of an eagle with a snake in it's mouth perched on a cactus. While searching for a homeland, the deity Huitzilopochtli and his followers discovered a spring that ran two streams of water. One stream was red as blood and the other bright blue and thick. Huitzilopochtli and his followers also discover a large eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus grasping a snake in it's talons. Huitzilopochtli sees this as a sign to build the city of Tenochtitlan. The ancient city of Tenochtitlan is now the capital of Mexico, Mexico City.
